Bizzare bedmas

Hello bloggers, recently in maths we have been learning about bedmas. I love bedmas as it is a fun way to figure out our maths questions. on Thursday we do create Thursday, so our task was to make a video that explains bedmas! we used stop motion in the video not only we had to explain bedmas we had to try and make it funny.  our aim was to make our teacher laugh if she did once we are out of lockdown we get a chocolate bar. We also got the choice of using playdough paper our Lego for our stop motion. I chose paper. I hope you enjoy my blogpost for today thank you and goodbye.

Not so sweet Sergeant Hanley.

Hello bloggers, from my recent blog post you will know I have been reading a book called private peaceful. I have now finished reading this book, and  I would like to share my very last task on private peaceful up until we watched the movie. I definitely suggest reading the book of private peaceful before watching the movie, as without knowing the concept of the book/movie it could bit a little bit hard to understand it all. for our last task we had to pick certain pieces of information out of the book that described our cruel character sergeant Hanley. We had different page numbers and had to find quotes that described him and then say what the quotes show about his personality and then you're done i personally think this was a fun task and I'm would even like to do it after reading other books it definitely shows peoples characters.  well I do hope we are staying safe and not to mention sane during our lockdown process hopefully we move to level 3. goodbye and i will see you next time!

PRODUCTION

Hello bloggers, in 13 weeks we have been working on a production/play the teachers who helped with props making dances getting costumes and more had decided to do Aladdin. We have now finished our shows but I want to talk about the journey to completing the production.

First, we had to do auditions we could ethier do a major role (solo singing example * Aladdin genie jasmine Jafar sultan and more) or minor roles ( singing as a choir example being the village people/agrabans).

Secondly, we learnt our songs and roles songs being Arabian nights prince Ali and so on. next we learnt our dances this was quite difficult.

we threw in a few props and 13 weeks of solid practice and BOOM an amazing show but obviously, it wasn't that easy but we did extremely well and were very satisfied with our work. must I say what an amazing opportunity to be in a school production easy the next one is in two years and if you are still here please give it a shot I assure you it's worth it.

Steam Table Challenge

hello bloggers, today we are doing steam we had the challenge to make a table with ten pieces of newspaper and 1 meter of sellotape we designed a box with riped paper inside the challenge was to hold a heavy book on your table. We held two books at our table. Some people held ten books and a laptop but i think we did fine. I think we should put more structure but overall it worked! We worked in teams of 5 so check out my team's blogs: Lily-piper Honey Tilly Ava

the voulume is 240 what are the sides!

hello, bloggers today we have been doing volume in math we had been given a volume and figure out the sides to make that volume width times height times length we figured out 15 x 4 x4 is 240 so those were our sides!

here is a photo!

we tried really hard to match our measurement we ended up with the perfect measurement however taping it was difficult. I worked with Mathew for the activity so check out his blog too! here is my friend honey and Flynn for comparison their measurements wee 3 8 10 however they got 2.5 instead of 3 but that's ok! go check their blogs to

Matariki

Hello, bloggers in honor of Matariki nearly being here, we have been doing ink printing! Our stages were..  1. make a draft- when we made our drafts we had to draw mountains of our choice and make swirls around our Matariki. Make sure to draw the stars backward or else when we print they would be around the wrong way! 2. once done the draft we had to trace it on foam- this process is best when using a ballpoint pen, we got given one sheet of foam so we had to make sure we treated it like a baby very carefully! Then get your ink.3. Printing- ready! you get your foam checked off and on you go to printing using a paint roller we spread the ink onto our foam plate. using your colors of choice e.g green-black and blue-purple and orange-red and any of your choice. You then roll your colors on your foam plate. drawing your design in the foam makes indents which the ink cant get into, making then blank spots when you print. Part of this process is pressing your foam plate on a piece of card with your ink on it of course. Peel your foam off the paper and boom it's a pretty Matariki painting. WAIT don't leave yet once you have let it dry you make a frame using the stencil our teachers have made. on a sheet card then draw your outline rather you could say inline. After you sketch out your line we cut along the line you have drawn with a craft knife BE CAREFUL. Trim your painting and glue on your frame. And now you're done! good job let me know if you try this out!!

Bye bloggers.

Stanley Yelnats and The Holes

Hello bloggers in reading we are reading a book called Holes.

  • The main person in this story is Stanley yelnats,  he was a young overweight boy who came from a poor family.
  • Stanley yelnats was found guilty of a crime he didn't commit.
  • Stanley's name can be read forwards and backwards as the same name.
  •  he was sent to camp green lake for "committing " a crime Camp Green Lake was  dry and desert like with no lake and only two trees.
  •  There he had to dig one hole each day 5 foot wide 5 foot deep using only his shovel as a measurement as it as five feet long.
  •  Stanley's family is cursed he always seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time

stanleys luck seems to be changing he has even found a few things in his holes
Have you read the book holes?
Bye Bloggers
